Avocado Butter: Pure avocado butter is expeller crushed from the fresh flesh of the avocado fruit and then hydrogenated to yield a soft greenish butter. Avocado butter is a very rich, moisturizing treatment for the hair and skin, and it has some natural sunscreen properties. This butter can be a little heavy and greasy, but it is definitely worth it in small amounts. Avocado butter is a good butter for belly balms, lip balms, eye makeup remover creams, hair conditioning creams, baby bottom balms and soap. Shelf life is 1-2 years. Cocoa Butter: Cocoa butter is a pure, crushed butter obtained from the cacao bean. It has a beautiful rich aroma of dark chocolate. Contains natural anitoxidants, is a soothing emollient that has been used for centuries for skin care. Said to help reduce the formation of stretch marks during pregnancy by keeping the skin supple. Shelf life up to 3 years. Coffee Butter: Coffee butter is produced by hydrogenating the cold pressed oil from roasted coffee beans, creating a butter with good oxidative stability and a smooth, silky feel. The oil offers natural protection from ultraviolet light. Coffee oil is rich in phytosterols which promote excellent moisture retention. Shelf life is 1 year. Kpangnan Butter: Kpangnan is the butter from the African Butter Tree (Pentadesma butyracea) which grows in the gallery rainforests and riverbank forests in West Africa. Kpangnan contains high amounts of vitamin A and stigmasterol, a natural skin firming agent, which is an unsaturated plant sterol. Although often referred to as golden shea, it is quite different. Similar to both shea and cocoa butters. Mango Butter: Mango butter is obtained from the kernels of the mango tree. A high content of stearic acid makes it similar to cocoa butter. It has good emolliency and lends protection against sun. It is said to prevent drying of skin and formation of wrinkles. Reduces degeneration of skin cells and restores elasticity. It can be used “as is” to provide relief from the dryness of eczema and psoriasis. Shelf life is 1-2 years. Mowrah Butter: Sometimes known as mahua butter, it is derived from the seeds of two species of the Madhuca (or Butter) tree, which is a native of central India. It is known to reduce the degeneration of skin cells, prevent wrinkles and restore skin flexibility. Shea Butter: This is refined shea butter, a creamy white with mild characteristic odor. An ideal treatment for dry or aging skin. Its high content of fatty acids gives it the ability to moisturize and retain elasticity of skin. Helps protect skin against damaging effects of sun while repairing cellular degeneration. Shelf life is 1-2 years. NOTE: All butters have a small amount of tocopheral (Vit.
